Extra Touches For Overnight Guests - Now That Life Is Returning To Normal.

Help Your Overnight Guests Feel at Home

Most of us know that when hosting overnight guests, a bed or air mattress needs clean sheets, some pillows, and a blanket or comforter. But adding a few extra items you may not have thought of can make your guests feel right at home. This list will help fill in some of the little things your guests will want to have on hand for a comfortable night’s sleep.

Bedside Lighting

Good lighting is key to making your guest room feel welcoming. Place a lamp on each bedside table. If you are limited on bedside tables, place a lamp on any other surface such as a dresser. Lamps with three settings are ideal, so guests can adjust the light levels to suit their preference.

Full-Length Mirror

When traveling, many of us may not have thought through all that we have packed, so a full-length mirror is a nice way to make sure your guest is able to see how they look for the day (or evening!). They will appreciate having a full-length mirror propped against the wall or attached to the back of the door.

Bottled Water

Having water available in the guestroom or guest bath is a wonderful way to keep your guests hydrated after a long drive or flight. Most guests don’t feel comfortable going through their hosts cabinets to find a glass, so be prepared with bottled water and an extra glass.

Extra Charging Cords

This is pretty self explanatory but now that most of us live through our phones, tablets and laptops, having several places to charge at once is super convenient. Trying to find an outlet behind a headboard or dresser a drag, but if you have already located outlets and have added a charging station, guests will be thankful.

Coffee and Tea Station

Setting up a coffee and tea station in the guest bath (outlets and water!) or on a tray on a dresser makes it clear they are welcome to help themselves. They can then snuggle back in bed with their coffee and check out emails or other important daily functions.

The only problem with all of these considerate touches is that your guests may never leave!
